China's pharmaceutical packaging has gone through three stages. In the 1950s and 1960s, brown glass bottles, grass cartons, and straight neck ampoules formed the packaging features of that era. Drug packaging is bulky, but it is based on practicality. The second stage was the 1970s to the early 1980s. This phase is in an adjusted, paralyzed state. At that time, it was greatly influenced by the "Cultural Revolution", especially in the late 1960s and the end of the 1970s, there was no registered trademark on pharmaceutical packaging, and it slowly began to go right after long-term pains.
Since the 1980s, as with other industries, red and special years of running-in, the pharmaceutical packaging industry has been able to develop healthily. In the early 1980s, registered trademarks were restored and drug packaging improved. In the form of packaging, in addition to tablets, powder, pills, creams, water, needles, powder, but also developed suppositories, oral liquids, aerosols, capsules, capsules, patches, chewing agents and other dosage forms. In terms of materials, aluminum, plastic, paper, laser anti-counterfeiting and other composite materials are gradually gaining popularity. The annual output value of China's pharmaceutical packaging industry has reached more than 12 billion yuan, and manufacturers have reached more than 1,100.
The development and introduction of various new types of packaging machinery, coupled with the application of new packaging materials, has made the pharmaceutical packaging industry in China a new look. The extensive application of composite materials such as aluminum-plastic, paper-plastic, anodized aluminum, vacuum aluminum-plating film and laser anti-counterfeiting has effectively improved the quality of medicines, and also improved the packaging and packaging and decoration levels, gradually narrowing the gap with foreign counterparts. Tablets are widely used in aluminum-plastic cover packaging and have a considerable share in the market. The water needle eliminated the straight neck ampoule and replaced it with a curved neck. Yellow bottles have greatly improved in quality. Composite bags are commonly used in powders, tablets, granules. Printing on the capsule has been gradually introduced to the market.
In the late 1990s, the popularity of computers also brought drug packaging design to a new era.
At present, the current status of China's pharmaceutical finished packaging has the following characteristics:
First, some drug packaging focus on practical principles, in line with drug administration requirements. Most of these medicines are Western medicines, and most of them are joint venture products. These packaging and decorating designs are reasonable, elegant, and the materials used in the carton are exquisite, with strong hardness, crispness, good hand feeling and certain representativeness.
Second, some medicines have rough packaging and are not worth the candle. There is a large proportion of proprietary Chinese medicines, some of which use stencil paper and linerboard as linings, and have extremely poor impact resistance. If the moisture is large and the air tide is being sold, the strength of the carton will be weakened after absorbing moisture, and it will be easily damaged.
Third, some drug packaging is soft. The majority of tablet packaging, especially sugar-coated tablets, its own weight, plus the soft package, there are many opportunities for friction between the film and the film, stripping, slicing serious.
Fifth, bottled rubber seal materials that play a leading role in pharmaceutical packaging training are natural rubber and butyl rubber. However, because the performance of natural rubber can not meet the requirements of medicines, it is easily contaminated and gradually eliminated in the world. However, China has been using stoppers made of natural rubber. People in the industry believe that due to the disorderly competition in recent years, the development of the pharmaceutical packaging industry has caused tremendous "hidden risks." China's pharmaceutical packaging industry, whether it is from the packaging design, or from the choice of materials, compared with the international level of the gap Big.
Zhang Heqing, president of the China Pharmaceutical Packaging Association, believes that pharmaceutical packaging awareness should not become a "blind spot" in the medical community. In the future, we must strengthen the research and application of new packaging materials and vigorously develop advanced materials such as butyl rubber. The relevant administrative departments should further revise the “Drug Packaging Management Regulations†promulgated 10 years ago to adapt them to the requirements of the development of the times, establish new standards and rules in the pharmaceutical packaging industry, and gradually improve the safety and sanitation quality standards for drug packaging products.
