The original manuscript is the graphic or textual information on the object or carrier on which the plate was made. There are many kinds of manuscripts, which fall into two major categories. See Table 1-1, Line Manuscripts and Continuity Manuscripts.
(1) Line Originals Text originals are composed of black and white or color lines.
(2) Continually tune the manuscript of the original image to a continuous gradient. Whether it is a line manuscript or a continuous manuscript, it can be further divided into reflective drafts and transmitted manuscripts. The reflection draft is a manuscript with an opaque material as a graphic information carrier. The transmissive manuscript is a manuscript with a transparent material as a graphic information carrier. Among them, the color reversal film is the most commonly used manuscript at present. It differs from the natural color positive film in that the natural color positive film is obtained by copying the negative film and the reversal film is directly obtained by shooting. Therefore, the color reversal film is more abundant than the natural color film.
