Sony has just launched the epoch-making Librie Ebook reader, adopting the long-awaited E-Ink electronic ink technology, which is almost equal to the clarity of traditional newspaper book media, and is clearer than any similar electronic display device on the market. Industry professionals believe that Sony Librie e-book readers may open a revolution in electronic publishing. Downloading daily news directly on the day will save a lot of wood and protect Earth's forest resources.
Sony LIbrie is about 7 ounces, 8 feet long and 5 feet wide. It's just like the size of a book. It uses 4 AAA batteries and can maintain 10,000 pages of work. Librie's display does not have a background light, the font color is grayish, the text does not darken with the swing of the hand, and can also be used normally in poor light.
Although the Librie Ebook reader has only 800600 resolution, its black-and-white fonts are clear enough to outperform any LCD display. It is currently only sold in the Japanese market, priced at 380 US dollars. Sony said it has no plans to introduce similar products in the US market, although E-Ink technology was invented in the United States.
Erik of Massachusetts, USA, Philips of the Netherlands, and Toppan Printing Technology of Japan jointly participated in the development of the Librie e-book reader. The machine adopts electronic pulses that are thinner than the hair, alternating positive and negative levels of black and white fonts.
The user can press the button on the side of the Librie display to page forward or backward. At the bottom of the display there is an animated dog-shaped arrow that allows the user to store more than 40 page labels. At the same time, the user can zoom in the text twice. Librie has an internal sound dictionary and also supports a variety of foreign languages.
In the ointment, Sony Librie does not support copying books to other electronic devices, and the downloaded books will expire within two months. Currently, the Librie series e-books sell for only $3 each.
The Librie reader is connected to the computer via a USB interface. Japan Publishinglink, Sony and other media publishers have jointly launched a book download service. There are currently more than 800 books specially selected for business people, including business, sports, health, travel, adventure novels and various best-selling books. Sony Librie Ebook Reader is currently equipped with 10MB of memory and can hold approximately 20 pages of e-books. With an external Sony flash memory stick, the amount of book storage can be greatly increased, enough to read enough when traveling.
