Recently, KBA has released a new horizontal paper inspection system - Qualitronic II. The system can be applied to a new generation of Rapida 105 sheet-fed presses, as well as to all Rapida format presses, with a maximum speed of 18,000 sheets per hour.
This new version of the Qualitronic II system utilizes a color camera device to increase the color transfer area and the purpose of passing directly through the master slit to the impression cylinder. Its water-cooled LED lighting device provides illumination close to the impression cylinder. During the printing process, each print sheet is scanned at a very high resolution.
Due to the difference in printing format, the scanning resolution of the Rapida 74 is approximately 0.15 mm per pixel, and the scanning resolution of the Rapida 205 is approximately 1 mm per pixel. The system can detect slight color deviations between 16 million colors.
