Recently, Hercules Corporation of the United States has developed a new type of polymer film that can control the atmosphere packaging film, which can be used to package fresh foods such as fruits and vegetables, so that the freshness can be extended by a factor of two.

This controllable atmosphere packaging film is a thin film with fine pores. It can control the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide gas in the package, so that the package can slow down the breathing of fresh fruits and vegetables, in order to extend the shelf life. The film can also be used as a label to directly cover the air vent of the airtight container to achieve optimal atmosphere control within the container.

This new type of polymer packaging film can be produced by food manufacturers and can be adjusted according to the type, shape, weight, volume, and respiration rate of different fresh foods that need to be preserved. The production equipment mainly includes heat sealing equipment, film production equipment and container production equipment.
