The heat-sealable packaging material is removed from the web, divided into two lengths, and then fed into a forming tool to produce a tubular wrapper. The sealing tape is fed between the forming tube and the film material to form a tight longitudinal sealing zone. With the combined sealing device, the bottom seal of the empty bag and the top seal of the filled package can be performed simultaneously.
