What is camping? Camping means not relying on mountain houses, hostels and other artificial equipment, but using their own prepared props to live in the mountains for the night. Camping activities in the past are the most common terms used in Scouting and military activities, and generally refer to the wild. In nature, a free-living way centered around accommodation is called camping. However, it still has many forms and methods. There is no one-size-fits-all approach, and even worse, as the overnight stay of the military, as small as camping with only one person, can be widely recognized as camping.
Safety first
1. Try to set up a tent on a hard, flat ground. Do not camp on riverbanks and dry riverbeds.
2. The entrance to the tent should be leeward, and the tent should be kept away from the rolling hillsides.
3. To avoid flooding of tents when it rains, dig a drain just below the canopy line.
4. The four corners of the tent should be pressed with big stones.
5. Keep air in the tent and cook in the tent to prevent it from catching fire.
6. Before going to sleep at night, check whether all the flames have been extinguished and whether the tent is firm.
Fast "home"
When we choose a good camp and prepare for camping, we should first build public tents. At the camp's downwind position, first set up a tent for cooking, set up a stove and burn a pot of water, and then set up a warehouse tent for common equipment in order to co-exist with each other. When the tent in the entire camp is set up, the boiled water has been boiled and can be immediately consumed and started cooking. In addition, don't forget to take a simple toilet in a downwind place away from the water source to avoid an embarrassing situation.
Outdoor toilet
When you participate in field activities, you often camp in the wild. When we arrive at the destination to build a camp, it is extremely necessary to build a simple outdoor toilet. The outdoor latrines should be chosen in the downwind position of the camp. The location should be slightly lower than the camp and should be away from the river (at least twenty meters away). It is best to dig a rectangular earth pit about 30 centimeters wide, about 50 centimeters long, and about half a meter deep. Put some stones and fir leaves (eliminating odors). Three sides are surrounded by plastic sheets or boxes, fixed, and one side of the opening should be leeward. Prepare some sand and a shovel in the toilet and prepare another board or cardboard. Afterwards, use some sand to bury the excrement and toilet paper, and cover the pit with a board or cardboard to eliminate odors and maintain hygiene. In addition, there is a more obvious signboard outside the toilet so that people can see if there are people using the toilet farther away. When the camping is over, bury the pit with sand and mark it well and tell other people who participate in outdoor activities.
